The Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) has announced the Class 9 (SSC Part-I) Science Group result for the First Annual Examinations 2026. The result was released on 28 October 2026, and students could check it on the board’s official website, bsek.edu.pk, from 5:30 PM that day. Board Chairman Professor Musharraf Ali Rajput announced the result, and Controller of Examinations Ahmed Khan Chutto shared the official figures. If you are a Karachi Class 9 Science Group student, this guide gives you the exact figures, the official way to check your result, and the one rule change that affects how you read it.
The headline figure is a 69.56% pass rate. That figure is the share of students who appeared and passed all their papers: 123,757 out of 177,923. It is not the share who passed at least one paper, and it is not a school ranking. Many students passed some papers and not others, and those students are recorded separately in the board’s breakdown. Read your own result entry before judging it from the headline percentage.

Karachi Board Class 9 Result Kaise Check Karein?
BSEK ka tareeqa seedha hai, lekin result day par website slow ho sakti hai. Is liye steps ko tartib se follow karein:
- bsek.edu.pk kholein aur Results section par jayein. Board ki official website hi asli source hai.
- SSC Part-I (Class IX) Annual 2026 — Science Group select karein. Apna group ghalat select na karein — Science Group ka result General Group se alag hai.
- Apna roll number darj karein jaisa admit card ya roll number slip par likha hai. Number ghalat likhne se result nahi milega.
- Result ko ghaur se parhein. Har subject ka result alag hota hai. Sirf total ya headline percentage se apna result judge na karein.
- Agar website slow ho, thori dair baad dobara koshish karein. Result day par heavy traffic normal hai, aur bar bar refresh karne se website aur slow hoti hai.
- Apne result ka screenshot ya print save karein. School record, rechecking ya supplementary ke liye ye copy kaam aayegi.
Ek ahem baat: board ke elaan ke mutabiq result check karne ka rasta official website hai. Agar koi page ya SMS aap se fee maange ya poora CNIC maange taake result dikhaye, to wo board nahi hai. Board apna result dikhane ke liye fee nahi leta.
Karachi Board Class 9 Result 2026: Full Figures
The board’s reported breakdown shows where the 177,923 appeared candidates stand. The figures below are as reported by the board’s Controller of Examinations and carried consistently across news reports on 28 October 2026.
| Examination result | Number of candidates |
| Registered candidates | 180,054 |
| Candidates who appeared | 177,923 |
| Candidates absent | 2,131 |
| Passed all papers | 123,757 |
| Passed six papers only | 21,999 |
| Passed five papers only | 11,006 |
| Passed four papers only | 7,431 |
| Passed three papers only | 4,409 |
| Passed two papers only | 3,101 |
| Passed one paper only | 2,439 |
| Reported pass percentage | 69.56% |
Two honest notes on these figures. First, the partial-pass rows add up to 50,385 students who passed some papers but not all. If you add those to the 123,757 full passes, you get 174,142 — which leaves 3,781 appeared candidates unaccounted for in that breakdown. Some reports also quote a separate failed figure of 53,849, which does not reconcile cleanly with the partial-pass rows above. Because the published breakdown does not add up perfectly, this guide does not present a separate failed-total as settled fact. What is solid is the core set: 180,054 registered, 177,923 appeared, 123,757 passed all papers, and 69.56% as the reported full-pass rate. Your own result entry is the authoritative record for you, not any headline total.
Second, 69.56% is exactly the full-pass share: 123,757 divided by 177,923. A student who passed five papers is not counted in that 69.56%, even though that student is only one paper away from a full pass. That is why the percentage looks lower than the share of students who passed something. If you passed some papers, you are in the partial-pass rows above, and your next step is the supplementary route for the remaining papers, not a full repeat of the year.

What Is the New 40% Pass Rule for Class 9?
This is the change most students and parents will misunderstand, so read it carefully. For the Class 9 annual examinations from 2026, BSEK has raised the pass threshold from 33% to 40% per subject. In other words, a paper now needs at least 40% marks to count as passed. This is the same direction as the new grading change at Karachi’s Intermediate level, where scoring below 40% in a paper makes a student Ungraded in that subject.
In practice, the 40% rule applies paper by paper. If you score 40% or more in a subject, that paper is passed. If you score below 40% in one subject, that subject is not passed, even if your marks in other subjects are strong. A student who passes five papers and falls below 40% in the sixth has not passed the full group, and the sixth paper must be cleared through the board’s supplementary or retake process. Equally, a below-40% result in one paper does not cancel your passes in other papers.
If you are affected by the new rule, your next steps are: confirm exactly which paper is below 40% from your official result entry, ask your school about the supplementary examination schedule and how to apply, and do not pay any agent who promises to change the threshold or your marks. The 40% rule is a board policy, not something an individual can buy or negotiate.
What to Do After Checking Your Class 9 Result
Use your result in this order, whatever it says:
- Save a copy of your result. Screenshot or print it. You may need it for school records, rechecking questions or supplementary applications.
- If you passed all papers, plan for Class 10 with your school. Your school will tell you about enrolment and what else it needs.
- If you passed some papers, find the supplementary route early. Ask your school which papers remain, when the supplementary examinations are held, and how to apply. Waiting until the last week is the most common reason students miss a supplementary chance.
- If you believe there is an error in your entry, raise it through your school and the board’s proper channel, with your roll number and result copy as evidence. Do not rely on social media posts to correct a board record.
- If your result is not showing at all, check that you selected Science Group Regular, that your roll number matches your slip exactly, and that you are on bsek.edu.pk. If it is still absent after careful checking, contact your school before assuming the worst.
Karachi Board Class 9 vs Class 11 Results: Do Not Mix Them Up
Karachi has two different boards, and students mix them up every result season. Class 9 and Class 10 results come from BSEK, the Board of Secondary Education Karachi, on bsek.edu.pk. Class 11 and Class 12 results come from BIEK, the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi, on biek.edu.pk, and those are published as a college-wise gazette PDF rather than a roll-number search page. The Class 11 groups announced on 26 October 2026 were a BIEK announcement, while this Class 9 Science Group result is a BSEK announcement two days later. If you search the wrong board’s site, you will not find your result however many times you try.
The same warning applies to Punjab boards. Punjab’s BISE boards have their own result systems and calendars, and a Karachi student should not use a Punjab board’s SMS or website process for a BSEK result. Follow the board that actually conducted your examination.
Stay Safe: Fraud Warnings for Result Students
Result season attracts fake result pages every year:
- The board does not charge a fee to show your result. Any site asking for payment to unlock your result is a scam.
- Never share your full CNIC, a photo of your CNIC, or your roll number publicly when asking for help. A genuine helper can explain the process without your personal details.
- Only bsek.edu.pk is the official result source for BSEK Class 9. Lookalike sites that copy the board’s name are not the board.
- No agent can change your marks, raise a paper above 40%, or add your name to the result. Anyone offering that for money is committing fraud.
- Ignore SMS messages that claim your result and ask for a fee or a code. The board’s announced route for this result is its official website.
Frequently Asked Questions

- My result is not showing on the website. What should I do? — Check that you selected Science Group Regular, that your roll number matches your slip, and that you are on bsek.edu.pk. The website is slow on result day, so try again after a short wait, then contact your school if it is still absent.
- Is this the same as the Karachi Board 11th class result? — No. Class 11 results are from BIEK on biek.edu.pk, published as a gazette. Class 9 results are from BSEK on bsek.edu.pk. They are different boards with different systems.
- Do I need to pay to see my result? — No. The result on bsek.edu.pk is the board’s official publication. Any site charging to show your result is not the board.
Final Words
The Karachi Board’s Class 9 Science Group result is out, the headline is a 69.56% full-pass rate, and the detail that matters most for individual students is the new 40% per-subject threshold. A full pass is worth celebrating, a partial pass is a supplementary paper to plan — not a disaster — and a result that is not showing yet is usually a wrong-group or wrong-board search, or a General Group result that has not been announced. Check on bsek.edu.pk, save your result copy, ask your school about next steps early, and ignore anyone who offers to change the result for money.
